The 2023 MIT Solve entry gives the footprint as 1.5 square metres and the height range as 80 cm (1 layer) to 450 cm (10 layers).
Who it suits
Leafy greens are fast, compact and sold fresh, which makes them the natural fit for a unit standing inside a supermarket, a hotel kitchen or a school. The original akar.farm site featured four of them: Selada Iceberg, Kale Nero, Bayam Merah and Bayam Hijau.
