Why it fits
Education has been part of Akar's story from the start. At its Bandung greenhouse the team ran "education-based learning to nearby children and mothers about hydroponics and the importance of learning about plants" (MIT Solve).
What we know from Akar’s pilots
Schools and universities are named among Akar's target off-takers. Universities appear among the partners on Akar's 2024 website: Telkom University, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) and Institut Teknologi Tangerang Selatan (ITTS). Raffles Christian School also appears. Akar's current site (akarfarm.com) describes container plant factories run with IPB University in Bogor since June 2025.
